What is a Head-Up Display?
A head-up display (HUD) is an innovative technology that is becoming increasingly common in the U.S. automotive industry. It projects important information directly into the driver’s line of sight, allowing them to keep their eyes on the road while accessing crucial data.
How Head-Up Displays Work
A head-up display uses a combination of projection technology and reflective surfaces to show information. Key features include:
- Image Projection: The HUD projects images and data such as speed, navigation, and safety alerts onto a transparent visor that sits in the driver’s line of sight.
- Reflective Surface: The projected image is reflected on a surface, typically a panel or glass screen, positioned in front of the driver.
